Behind the closed doors of my childhood home no one knew what took place and behind a smile you never know the truth do you. People look and think what a nice happy family only if they knew the truth but no one knew and no one cared either. Fear kept us silent to prevent the unknown from happening later on or the next day. Doesn't everyone have some dirty little family secrets that are hidden from the same people we see every day and from those we love? What happens when the truth is revealed? How are you perceived then by others you interact with, and those you love and trusted to protect you? Are you judged for having poor parents who provided only the minimal for you just to survive? Were you bullied or picked on when you were a kid just because the way you looked? How much pain and hurt did you keep inside your heart and soul to prevent from being wounded by those you loved and strangers? Did you always do what you were told to do? Or did you do whatever you wanted to do even though you knew it was wrong? The toll of internal baggage can weigh you down and make you very sick until you unload that baggage one day and finally free yourself.
