In this book the author uses creates a foster child for the reader, to relate to. A child who can relate to how a foster child might feel about not being raised by bio-mom. It shares those questions of "why" from one child to another and what some of those answers might be. Including that it is not the child's fault and maybe not even the parents fault. The author uses a child's positive experience with a foster mom to create a sense of acceptance and calm with her new family.
