Black Pettway, Sr. has been playing Texas Hold'em since the age of 9. Even then he learned that the game is very strategic. Growing up surrounded by "southern" card players (uncles, aunts and grandparents), he picked up on the craft of the game and started playing Spades with the family. He even played in the local tournaments for trophies. Mr. Pettway, Sr. says his family gambles, that is, not all of them gamble literally, but they all take more risks and chances than does Evel Knievel. Everyone said that watching Black Pettway as young as he was to be counting cards and playing spades was truly amazing. It was very soon after that his uncles taught him how to play 5-Card Stud and 7-Card Stud." It was not too long before Black Pettway, Sr. became "all about the $MONEY$" when playing the game of POKER. When he learned Texas Hold'em and Omaha, his entire view of the word "poker" completely changed. The day he turned 21, armed with his vision, views, and experience with the card deck, he decided to take his chances and ventured into playing in the casinos. That, says Black Pettway, Sr., is the day that changed his life: Texas Hold'em cash and tournaments. Out of all the sports he's played in school and video games that he played after school, Black Pettway, Sr. has found Texas Hold'em to be the best game he's ever played.
