Description

This is a rare view of life inside a destructive cult. This is an autobiographical narrative that focuses on one common thread of bullying, narcissism and extremism that was plucked from this life story as a recurring theme. It is a deeply intimate account of human relationships and the divine, of perspectives within the mindsets of cult members and of trauma. Their methods of mind control and the psychological damage they inflict are real. This group continues to operate internationally and in the U.S. with a branch in Canada. The most dangerous cults are disguised as known organizations.

We live in a time when falsehoods assault us from every direction. Packaged with just enough truth to make them appear trustworthy. These counterfeits online, in churches and in our neighbourhoods, have grown more and more difficult to detect and avoid. The characteristics of deceivers, bullies, narcissists, sociopaths, psychopaths and other toxic personalities, and how they have brought harm to our communities, is sometimes difficult to detect. These folks create a society and culture that is spinning with psychological torture, that causes mental health issues for normal caring people and then blame the crisis on them.

In this story, no matter where abuse came from (extremist Christian religious views, jealous co-workers or crazy narcissistic neighbours), this protagonist overcomes each hurdle and is ultimately victorious, despite the most horrendous development of events. We are all in a real-life spiritual battle between good and evil. It is important to equip oneself to overcome the overt expressions of hate, that will come, as a result of opposing those who think they are God. The battles that ensue from a sense of integrity, however, will only serve to solidify a strength of character. By remembering and embracing who we are, and practising key elements of virtue, with conciousness and thought, we can come to understand of our innate power, harness our supernatural nature and bring about mental and spiritual healing for ourselves and others. Then through our own personal transformation, we have the tools to rise up in a different, more effective way, to change the world for the better.

It is our personal journeys through challenging experiences and emotions, that define who we are and what we become. The connections we make with others can both encourage and demoralize us. How we deal with others and sorting what to internalize and attribute to our own self image, is a necessary part of the human experience. Meaningful connections can help us through our bravest and most heartbreaking moments. However it is the difficult relationships and encounters that build resilience. Understanding our own stories helps us see what it means to be courageous and gives it meaning. This is a blueprint for how to respond to madness with love, both to save oneself and the world from the growing prevalence and destruction of behaviors plaguing our communities today. It is also a hope that others who are suffering abuse, will take heart and know they are not alone.
