About the Author


Dr. Vicky Scott is a Clinical Professor with the School of Population and Public Health in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia. She was the Senior Advisor on Fall and Injury Prevention for the province of British Columbia with the BC Injury Research and Prevention Unit and the Ministry of Health. She has published numerous journal articles, government reports and clinical guidelines on the topic of falls and injury prevention for older adults. Dr. Scott has consulted as an advisor and co-authored a number of reports on fall and injury prevention for the World Health Organization, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and the Public Health Agency of Canada. She is the recipient of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research Knowledge Translation Award. When not preventing falls, Vicky is an avid bird-watcher.
