About the Author

Deborah Barocas grew up in Guyana, SA. At the early age of nine, she developed a love for cooking and meandered in the kitchen with her Mom and Grandmother where she developed her culinary skills. Her daily jaunts to the markets where upon fresh fare was selected for the day's meal was a highlight for her. After she migrated to the United States, she continued her culinary exploits with ventures into the many ethnic food arenas that awaited her. Yet, she always seemed to return to the roots amassed with beautiful memories of her homeland's rich culture, and exotic foods. Writing this book is her tribute to her beautiful Guyana, for though she happily resides in NY with her husband and two sons, she incorporates many attributes from her Guyanese heritage some of which can always be found on her dinner table to the great delight of her family
